Wondering Thoughts of a USMC Veteran

It's freeze your nose hair cold outside.

The temperature has really fallen in the last couple of weeks. Now we're in the negatives. They promised us snow on the news, but it didn't come. There is still a foot or so on the ground, but it's old and dry. We really need some new snow.

I'm in the engineering lab, and I have the noisiest keyboard ever made. I think I'm going to be murdered if I type too long. School is back in session. It's our second week back. Calculus II is a nightmare. My other classes aren't too bad. I have two engineering classes this semester, so I am finally doing stuff that relates to my degree.

Break was good. I didn't do a whole lot of anything. I really wanted to do some cross-country skiing, but there wasn't enough snow.

I've gotten all the paperwork for the recruiter in, and am just waiting on word from the unit up here about my joining up. They seem fairly enthused about it. I had my contract extended by a month, so I can get in a year of drilling before it expires. It should be a good time. They said the first drill will be in March. I'll be looking forward to it. My MOS is going to be machine gunner.

I am still writing for the paper, and will be posting a link to the newspaper page, where my articles will be. I have an article coming out today. The next will be out in two weeks, if I get it done. I also have a paper to write in my Western Civilization class.

I need to get going before I incite a mob with my loud typing.

You ain't kidding. It's colder than a well digger's ass in the Klondike.
I am in Kenai and it's minus 20 right now. I have to work on planes all day today out there. Getting ready to run fuel for the Iron Dog.

Well, keep warm!

We missed you during winter break. Congratulations on the engagement. That is great news. You are lucky in love!

As far as the Calc II goes, get a tutor now or start a regular study group. It is a killer if you fall behind. You are one busy guy with school, newspaper, fiance and Marines. But we know you can handle it all.
