It's snowing today.

We're getting dusted today, but it doesn't look like we're going to get any real snow. I'd guess we'll get an inch before it stops. This winter has been a let down. During break when I had some free time to go skiing, there wasn't enough snow. Now we've accumulated about a foot over the last month, and it's too cold to do anything outside.

We had a big car chase through town yesterday. Some idiot stole a truck while it was warming up in a driveway, and the police caught on to him quick. It was a private company truck, and it had writing and a phone number on it. The guy was driving the truck recklessly before the cops even caught onto him.

The cops found the guy really quick with the help of the people in morning traffic who were calling to complain about the reckless driving. The cops decided not to start a chase, but rather follow the guy with lights/sirens off. They cornered him at one point and he rammed the truck past the cops, hitting four cars. The cops opened fire on him, but missed, and the guy went speeding through an intersection and t-boned a commuter. The guy who got hit was killed instantly. He was a 34 year old father of two. The chase ended a little ways down the road when the thief ditched the truck and ran on foot.

The cops chased the guy down, and now he's in jail with a $200,000 bail facing a murder charge. How stupid can people get? He would have been slapped on the wrist for the theft, and now he's going down as a murderer. When will people learn that it doesn't pay to run from the cops?

I've yet to hear back from the reserve unit, but they are supposed to be ordering my uniforms. I need to make up some drill time, so they suggested I come in before the March drill. I'll be glad to re-acclimatize myself without the pressure of having the whole unit there.

I had better get going, I have a great deal of homework to do.

Brandon
